Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age of five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. As a young girl of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes on singing, acting, and dancing. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach and school productions by the time she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were selected as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film is 2001's top grossing film, breaking records on opening day as well as the first weekend. The critics were impressed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards in the film.
